After Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley went full blast on President Biden, the White House responded with some shade.
Haley said in a recent Fox News interview: “He’s announced that he’s going to run again in 2024, and I think we can all be very clear and if you’re actually voting for Joe Biden, you’re really saving up, President Harris, because the idea that he’s going to do it until he’s 86 years old is something that I think might be possible.” is not.
White House spokesman Andrew Bates responded.
There are two ways to look at Halley’s comment. The former South Carolina governor has seen her presidential campaign go nowhere. Former Vice President Mike Pence is not a declared candidate, and is now polling ahead of Haley. Nikki Haley She’s trying to walk the line between presenting herself as a younger, new non-Trump candidate in the 2024 Republican primary, but not wanting to alienate Trump voters, which puts her in the middle as a forgettable candidate.
A second way to look at Haley’s comments is that she is trying hard to win Trump’s attention because she wants to be his competitor. Haley previously served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, and now she’s ready to show that nothing is too low for her on the campaign trail.
Nikki Haley is an afterthought. The White House isn’t the only one who forgot she was running.
