You can see states as laboratories of democracy, but you see states where each party is experimenting with what it wants for the whole country. There’s always a myth Republican-controlled states can tell you about what they’re doing in blue states. I probably found it more interesting than most.
I was always fascinated by these stories. But as you look at the different states, the red and blue states, the priorities and outcomes and sometimes the differences in intent among the legislatures in those states. Of all the trends I’ve followed over the years, this is one of the few times I can recall Democratic states like Jay Inslee’s Washington state passing legislation that not only separates blue states from Republican states, but separates blue states from Republican states. The United States is developing a two-tiered system of freedom. Blue states if people have freedoms such as freedom for everyone to carry a gun without a license anywhere, and freedom of privacy and freedom regarding health care.
