Rep. Jaime Raskin (D-MD), a member of the House Oversight Committee, released new information challenging false statements made by Chairman James Comer (R-KY) about the Biden team’s handling of classified documents.
Comer has been developing racist conspiracy theories about Cathy Chung, an aide to then-Vice President Joe Biden.
Chairman Comer declined to release the full transcript of his interview with Chung. But the committee instead appeared in conservative media to make false claims about Chung, a South Korean being involved with the Chinese government.
In a statement to PoliticusUSA, Rep. Raskin said:
Ever since then-Vice President Biden began his investigation into the handling of classified records, committee Republicans have been using false claims and racist harassment to distract from the investigation into former President Trump’s mishandling and his refusal to turn over hundreds of classified records to his mark. a-Lago Club.
Committee Republicans also refused to request any information about former Vice President Mike Pence’s handling of classified documents. Today’s memo shows just how much committee Republicans have lied about Ms. Chung, including about her position in the White House, in an effort to land airtime on Fox News and Newsmax. In order to provide the American public with full disclosure of the facts, Chairman Comer must publicly release all transcripts of this investigation.
Comer Chung said he was hired to move classified documents at the behest of Biden. Chung’s interview transcript declines.
House Republicans are not releasing full interviews, not providing evidence and witnesses to Democrats, and have tried to keep their investigation secret while releasing pieces of the cherry.
Chairman Comer is doing the same. Jim Jordan was caught in an investigation by the Judiciary Committee. Komer and Jordan are not finding any concrete evidence to support their conspiracy theories and help Donald Trump, so they are trying to invent evidence to support their conspiracy theories.
